The Galgo has a long history in Spain, dating back centuries. They were originally bred for hunting, particularly for chasing and catching game such as hares and rabbits. Galgos were highly valued by Spanish nobility and hunters for their speed, agility, and keen sight.

Unfortunately, Galgos are sometimes mistreated or abandoned after the hunting season ends in Spain. Organizations around the world work tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate these dogs, providing them with the care and love they deserve. Many people outside of Spain have also come to appreciate the Galgo's gentle nature and have adopted them as pets.
